Pastor Jay (he/him/his) is from a little bit of everywhere in the Northeast. A 2009 graduate from Temple University (B.A., Religion) and a 2014 graduate of The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (M.Div.), has called the Philadelphia area home for the past 15 years. A life-long lover of cities, Pastor Jay concentrated his studies in Metropolitan/Urban Ministries. Pastor Jay is excited to be a part of the vibrant community in Chestnut Hill. A "liturgi-geek" Jay's passions are connecting worship and life being sure that the gatherings of God's people inform and are informed by daily life. Pastor Jay is passionate about extending the amazing news of God at work in the world with all people and extending the radical welcome of God.
Pastor Jay lives in Mt Airy and loves to read, garden, cook and bake, and take advantage of the many museums, theaters, and restaurants that the wonderful city of Philadelphia has to offer.
Ms. Hyson (she/her/hers) is a native of Salamanca, New York, and a graduate of Genesee Community College. Prior to working at Christ Ascension, Ms. Hyson worked in the medical billing field. She enjoys reading, sewing, music and dining out with family and friends. Ms. Hyson lives in Conshohocken with her family.
Ms. Leaming, Ms. BA, (she/her/hers) is
originally from Ohio , but has lived in the Philadelphia area nearly 25 years. With well over a decade of experience as a school director, and degrees in Psychology & Sociology (Ohio 1992), Education (Drexel 2012) and Law (Ohio Northern 1995), BA is well versed in the skills needed to make our Child Care Center the best that it can possibly be for the children and families that are part of it.
Ms. BethAnn is always surrounded by children, either at the center, or at home with four of her own. They are an active family that enjoys travelling as far and frequently as possible.
